In North Kalimantan (Kaltara), the regional government is committed to inclusive development, supported by collaboration with civil society. This planning, regulated by Permendagri 86 of 2017, emphasises public participation at every stage, from the RPJPD to the RKPD. This commitment aligns with Indonesia's national vision for a fairer and more resilient future (RPJMN 2025-2045) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Inclusive development ensures no community group is left behind, providing equitable access to education, health, and employment, while empowering vulnerable groups such as women, children, indigenous communities, the elderly, and people with disabilities to be recognised, heard, and involved in...

Amidst ongoing modernisation, elderly are often marginalised and perceived as a “burden”. Many continue to struggle independently, and some still bear the responsibility of supporting their families. This inspiring story underscores the significance of PAITUA, the old-age protection program initiated by the Government of Southwest Papua Province and supported by the SKALA Program. PAITUA stands as proof that collaboration can empower elderly, challenge prevailing stigma, and help build a stronger community.

Growing old is a natural part of life, and elderly are not merely objects but empowered subjects of development. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has become a pioneer in creating an age-friendly community through the Regional Action Plan for Elderly (RAD Lansia). To realise an age-friendly society, cross-sector collaboration is essential. Government of Indonesia, through the Ministry of Finance and the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the wellbeing of elderly through various social protection policies, healthcare services, and economic empowerment initiatives.

Collaboration between the central and provincial government in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province demonstrates how integration of DTKS (Integrated Social Welfare Data), P3KE (Targeting the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty), and Regsosek (Socio-economic Registry) can improve the accuracy of social assistance programs, reduce duplication, and expand the reach of services to the poor and vulnerable. Supported by the SKALA Program, this data integration initiative strengthened transparency, efficiency, and public trust through data validation down to the village level. NTT's success serves as an example of a good practice that can inform the implementation the National Socio-Economic Single Data...
