Inclusive Development: How North Kalimantan is Listening to Its People

In North Kalimantan (Kaltara), the regional government is committed to inclusive development, supported by collaboration with civil society. This planning, regulated by Permendagri 86 of 2017, emphasises public participation at every stage, from the RPJPD to the RKPD. This commitment aligns with Indonesia’s national vision for a fairer and more resilient future (RPJMN 2025-2045) and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Inclusive development ensures no community group is left behind, providing equitable access to education, health, and employment, while empowering vulnerable groups such as women, children, indigenous communities, the elderly, and people with disabilities to be recognised, heard, and involved in decision-making.
