The increased budget for Minimum Service Standards in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has strengthened the provision of basic infrastructure, housing, and public order services, with a positive impact on community well-being

The Provincial Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has demonstrated its commitment to improving Minimum Service Standards (SPM) across multiple sectors by significantly increasing budget allocations for the relevant agencies.

For example, the Public Works Agency’s budget increased from IDR3.4 billion to IDR19.9 billion to support the construction and rehabilitation of roads and bridges, thereby enhancing mobility and stimulating economic growth.

The budget for the Housing and Settlement Agency increased from IDR1.6 billion to IDR5 billion. Funds were directed towards assisting disaster-affected communities, accelerating recovery efforts and expanding access to adequate housing.

Meanwhile, the Agency for Public Order, Peace, and Community Protection’s budget increased from IDR317 million to IDR1.6 billion to strengthen security services, maintain social stability, and support conflict resolution.

These increased allocations reaffirm NTB’s commitment to delivering more equitable and higher-quality basic services. Communities across the province are expected to benefit from improved infrastructure, better housing and a safer environment, which will lay a strong foundation for regional development and enhanced well-being.

A motor vehicle tax exemption policy for persons with disabilities is being implemented in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to promote mobility, independence and participation

The Provincial Government of NTB has taken a progressive step to support vulnerable groups by introducing a policy that exempts modified vehicles owned by persons with disabilities (PKB). The policy is regulated under Governor Regulation No. 23 of 2024 and further supported by a Standard Operational Procedure issued through Regional Revenue Agency Regulation No. 10 of 2025.

Effective from January 2025, the policy has been implemented in four regencies/cities: Mataram City, West Lombok, East Lombok and North Lombok. As of April 2025, eight persons with disabilities had benefited from full PKB exemption, including penalties and additional charges, totalling IDR3,866,107.

SKALA contributed to drafting the regulatory content, expediting the SOP process, and facilitating policy outreach to persons with disabilities and service providers at the regencies/city level. This policy not only eases the financial burden but also enhances access to disabilities-responsive transportation and supports the independence of persons with disabilities in NTB.

A budget commitment of IDR54.6 million from the West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Offices of Communications and Statistics and of Regional Planning (Bappeda) ensures the sustainability of the NTB One Data Forum, which aims to strengthen data governance and support evidence-based development

The Provincial Government of NTB has demonstrated its commitment to strengthening data governance by allocating dedicated funding for the NTB One Data Forum. This support is critical to the sustainability of the Forum as a strategic coordination platform for inter-agency data management.

In 2024, the One Data Forum was held three times, with a total budget of IDR54,635,000 allocated by the Office of Communications, Informatics and Statistics (IDR35,000,000) and Bappeda (ID19,635,000). The availability of funds from these two key agencies highlights the local government’s commitment to ensuring the forum is implemented in a planned and continuous manner.

Beyond strengthening cross-sectoral coordination, the One Data Forum plays a vital role in identifying data management challenges, formulating follow-up plans, and promoting the development of supporting regulations at the regional level.
It also improves the quality of data, ensuring it is accurate, up to date and integrated, thereby aligning with the national One Data Indonesia policy.

Strengthened CSO capacity to use Regsosek data for targeted development planning through structured training in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB)

Technical training (Bimtek) on the use of Social and Economic Registration (Regsosek) data is vital in enhancing the capacity of civil society and community-based organisations (CSOs/CBOs) to manage and utilise data effectively. With this support, CSOs can make more informed decisions and design targeted empowerment programs that respond to the needs of vulnerable groups.

The training also facilitates collaboration between CSOs, government agencies and other stakeholders, thereby fostering synergy in poverty reduction and social development efforts. Furthermore, it helps to strengthen accountability and build public trust in the organisations implementing these programs.

Structured training enables development interventions to be delivered more effectively, contributing to sustainable development at the local level.
