Data and Analytics at SKALA

SKALA is an Australia-Indonesia partnership initiative that aims to support the Indonesian government in reducing poverty and inequality through improved provision of basic services to the poor and vulnerable in disadvantaged areas. In the context of decentralization that gives greater autonomy to local governments, SKALA focuses on strengthening data governance and analytics through the integration of data systems at all levels of government, in line with Indonesia’s One Data policy. The program addresses the challenges of data fragmentation, regional capacity gaps, and lack of disaggregated data by supporting information system development, human resource capacity building, and collaboration across ministries/agencies and local governments. Through a comprehensive approach, SKALA encourages the use of reliable data for more inclusive and equitable planning, budgeting, and public service delivery, particularly in areas of greatest need.
