Community Voices are Shaping Aceh’s Future: Building Aceh Through Inclusive Participation

The Aceh Government has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive governance with the enactment of Aceh Governor Regulation No. 12/2025 on Community Participation in Development. This regulation ensures that voices from the community—including women, persons with disabilities, and Indigenous groups—are fully integrated into the planning, implementation, and evaluation of development. This milestone builds on the success of earlier thematic forums facilitated by the provincial government, with support from SKALA – the Australia–Indonesia Partnership Program for Accelerating Basic Services. Through institutional strengthening, participatory forum facilitation, and capacity building, SKALA has helped ensure that community participation in Aceh becomes sustainable and impactful.
