Vice President Ma’ruf Amin noted that the launch of Master Plan and Information System marks a significant moment in Papua’s development journey. He emphasized that the RIPPP and SIPPP are crucial tools for accelerating Papua’s development, which is a top priority, in line with the government’s commitment to realizing Indonesia-centric development to reduce inequality between regions.

Mohammad Musa’ad, Acting Governor of Southwest Papua expressed hope that with systematic, structured and intensive coordination, Papua will stand on equal footing with regions across the country and become a source of pride for Indonesia.

Gita Kamath, the Deputy Australian Ambassador to Indonesia also welcomed the launch of RIPPP and SIPPP, which will help to improve the welfare of the Papuan people. She emphasized Australia’s support for inclusive development and noted that the Australian government has a number of programs that can benefit the people of Papua and Indonesia.

The RIPPP was created to accelerate development with the aspirations of and in the context of four New Autonomous Regions: South Papua, Central Papua, Papuan Highlands, and Southwest Papua. These regions were established to improve public services, make government more efficient and effective, enhance community welfare and development, bolster regional competitiveness, and strengthen the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia. It will inspire new enthusiasm and breakthroughs to accelerate development for the next 20 years.

The RIPPP reflects the development ideals outlined in the 1945 Constitution, which are aligned with the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045 and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030. As a development plan, the RIPPP is not just a policy document; it embodies the spirit, new paradigm, and breakthroughs needed for Papua to prosper in the coming decades. Its launch marks a significant milestone in Papua’s development journey and will play a critical role in Papua’s progress for years to come.
