Program Background

The SKALA Program is a significant Australian investment designed to help Indonesia address regional disparities in development. SKALA will contribute to this objective by strengthening selected elements of Indonesia’s large and complex decentralised government system responsible for the delivery of basic services (Layanan Dasar). The SKALA Program’s core approach is to facilitate better collaboration (Kolaborasi) between Indonesian government stakeholders, at national and subnational levels, to help realise synergies (Sinergi) that will trigger improved service delivery. Moreover, SKALA will build on, and take to scale, the successes and learning from Australia’s previous 19 years of support to Indonesia’s decentralised government system. The SKALA Program is to be implemented through the following three pillars:

• Pillar 1: Stronger national level enabling environment for sub-national service delivery
• Pillar 2: Better sub-national governance for service delivery
• Pillar 3: Greater participation, representation and influence for women, people with disabilities and vulnerable groups

SKALA is implemented at the national level with an office in Jakarta and at the subnational level with offices in Aceh, Nusa Tenggara Barat, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Maluku, Gorontalo, Kalimantan Utara (Kaltara), Tanah Papua. In addition to the 3 pillars, SKALA works across 4 general themes of Public Financial Management, Minimum Service Standards, Data and Analysis and Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI).

The Role

The SKALA Office has organized an internship program to provide a framework by which students from diverse academic backgrounds, particularly those related to basic administration office, may be assigned to support various assignments and tasks at the SKALA Office. Through this internship, their educational experience can be enhanced through practical work assignments, as well as providing an opportunity to make substantive contributions to the SKALA’s office work.

The intern will involve and learn, while also providing technical support to support in operation office t staff and working closely with other implementation staff to provide reporting administration (reporting events and documentation, etc)

About You

Specific Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Provincial Finance Coordinator dan Office Coordinator in close coordination with the SKALA Implementation. s/he will be involved and learn from the following tasks in supporting:

1. Supports the implementation of SKALA activities by providing administrative assistance for each event conducted by implementation team.
2. Assist with documentation, financial verification, activity reports and office tasks at the SKALA Office Gorontalo. 
3. Assisting the Provincial Finance Coordinator and Office Coordinator Gorontalo in reviewing budget planning for each event based on TOR approval.

Other Duties:

• Comply with DFAT, DT Global and SKALA policies on gender, disability, fraud and anticorruption, , child protection, PSEAH and the environment.
• Ensure compliance and adherence to various operational policies, guidelines and manuals issued by DT Global and SKALA.
• Proactively identify and report risks and manage risks within your level of accountability.

Job Requirements

• Work environment involves only infrequent exposure to disagreeable elements and minor physical exertion and/or strain.
• Work may require long and flexible hours as needed. Travel is based on need (other options: travel is not required or occasional travel).

Deliverables

1. Provide documents/administrative files for activities (attendance, invitations, resource material, document payment files)
2. Verification file after the event for input into the SKALA system (SAMA and Others).
3. Provide a brief activity report

Relationship Management

The role will work closely with the Provincial Finance Coordinator and Office Coordinator Gorontalo and government counterparts, and operation team/ implementation national and sub national..

 
Selection Criteria

Essential

1. A recent graduate or final-year student of business administration, public administration, economics, accounting, or management.
2. Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
3. Ability to participate part-time as indicated during the internship for 12 consecutive weeks. 
4. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Preferable

1. Has expertise in the field of information technology utilization such as: graphic design or graphic video.

Remuneration
Successful Indonesian nationals will be engaged under a national contract in IDR and will be subject to Indonesian employment regulations and tax obligations.
